Whoa Dough’s Ways to Show Someone You Love Them

Do you have someone in your life who means the world to you? Like a hard-working parent who’s had your back time and time again? A significant other who loves and supports you even when you’re at your worst? A daughter or son who makes you proud every single day? Whoever this person may be to you, their contributions to your happiness shouldn’t go unacknowledged. Show your special someone how much you appreciate them with these five tips!

Do something to help make their life easier.

For the days when the people you love are noticeably stressed or under a lot of pressure, try going out of your way to put a smile on their face. Even the smallest of gestures are incredibly appreciated and can completely turn their day around. Tidy up around the house and surprise your spouse to a clean home when they return from a long day of work, fill your parent’s car with gas to save them another trip to the gas station, brush the snow off of your significant other’s windshield before they head off to class in the morning, or visit your best friend at work with their favorite snack. No matter what you do in an attempt to help a loved one make it through the day, they’ll be sure to feel grateful.

Surprise them with an impromptu gift.

Big or small, surprising someone you love with an unexpected gift can go a long way. This gesture can range anywhere from grabbing your loved one’s favorite candy bar in the checkout line of the grocery store to buying them a bracelet or book that caught your eye when you were out running errands. You can even go out of your way to craft something for your special someone for an even more sentimental personalized gift! Whatever the item or dollar amount, your loved one will feel appreciated by the simple fact that you were thinking of them.

Leave them notes.

Hiding little notes for your loved one to find throughout the day is a cute and heartfelt way to show them you’re thinking about them. Whether you write your special someone a simple “I love you!” on a sticky note or a long letter of appreciation, the sweet gesture will be sure to put a smile on their face. Pack a note in your child’s lunchbox wishing them a good day at school, stick a Post-It note on your roommate’s mirror with words of encouragement, or write your significant other a letter of things you love about them and hide it somewhere for them to discover later in the day.

Make them their favorite dish.

Maybe your spouse has had a particularly exhausting week of work, or maybe the kids came home from school with news of excellent grades on their report card. Whether you’re looking to celebrate a loved one’s achievement or console them after a tough day, nothing says “I love you” like a home-cooked meal. Whip out the recipe books and get cracking on a surprise steak dinner for a spouse or some homemade mac n’ cheese for the kiddos. And for dessert? We suggest warming up a Whoa Dough bar to satisfy that sweet tooth!

Tell them.

This may seem obvious, but you’d be surprised how often we forget to tell our friends and family how much we love and appreciate them. Not great with words? No worries—you don’t have to deliver a mushy monologue in order to tell someone you care. A simple, “Hey, I just want you to know that I really appreciate you,” is just as effective.

No matter who that special person in your life is, they deserve to know that you love and care about them. And what better time than now to show it? Whether you like to communicate appreciation with your actions or your words, a simple gesture can truly go a long way.
